If you already did all the edits to the volumetric video, it’s time to export it. It can be done in the Export tab:

Export Format

You can select the format in which you want to export your volumetric video. Take into account the platform to which you want to upload the file. If you want to upload to the Unity Project, you will need .obj or .ply and it you are planning to upload to the EF EVE™ Platform, you will need the .gltf format.

Export format for volumetric video
Volumetric video export format
  • .obj – simple data-format that represents 3D geometry alone — namely, the position of each vertex, the UV position of each texture coordinate vertex, vertex normals, and the faces that make each polygon defined as a list of vertices, and texture vertices.
  • .ply – computer file format known as the Polygon File Format or the Stanford Triangle Format. It was principally designed to store three-dimensional data from 3D scanners. The data storage format supports a relatively simple description of a single object as a list of nominally flat polygons.
  • .obj.gltf – volumetric video format for the EF EVE™ Platform
  • .ply.gltf – 3D scan format for the EF EVE™ Platform

Export

  • File Name – The name that you choose for your file
  • Select Frames – Selects the frames that will be exported
  • Export – Exports your volumetric video. This may take a few hours depending on the length and post-processing settings that you selected.

Exported Frames

After your volumetric video finishes exporting, it will open in the Exported Frames window.
